Flight Routes

Flight 1: From Somersby Airfield, track in an Easterly direction over pristine hills and forests, flying over Tuggerah Lake then arriving overhead The Entrance. We will then track South, down the coast, flying past the magnificent Terrigal and Avoca Beaches, then tracking West and inland to return to Somersby.

Flight 2: From Somersby Airfield, track South-East over pristine hills and forests to the magnificent Terrigal Beach, then south down the coast to Macmasters Beach, and finally flying North-West over the magical Brisbane Waters to arrive back at Somersby Airfield.

Flight 3: From Somersby Airfield, track South over the magical Brisbane Waters, taking in magnificent aerial views over the sea to Barrenjoey Head, then tracking in a Westerly direction over the picturesque Pittwater, and North overland returning to Somersby Airfield.

Location - Road Directions

We are situated at the Somersby Airfield, 89 Lackersteens Road, Somersby. You can get there from either Sydney, Gosford or Newcastle

From Sydney

Take the F3 Freeway from Hornsby to Newcastle travelling North. Continue for 46 Km and take the Gosford off-ramp.

After 900 metres and at the Somersby Intersection, take the Wisemans Ferry Road for 6.5 Km. At this point Wisemans Ferry Road makes a 90° turn to the left, Lackersteens Road leads off straight. Continue with Lackersteens Road for 700 metres, and the airfield will be seen on the left hand side.

From Gosford

From the Pacific Highway towards Sydney. At West Gosford turn right at Dyer Crescent and then immediately left into Debenham Road South for 2.5 Km, turn left into Gindurra Road, continue for 500 metres and turn right into Wisemans Ferry Road. Continue along Wisemans Ferry Road for 4.9 Km and the road makes a 90° turn to the left, Lackersteens Road leads off straight. Continue with Lackersteens Road for 700 metres, and the airfield will be seen on the left hand side.

From Newcastle

From the F3 Freeway to Sydney, take the Somersby off-ramp, continue for 2.7 Km, and turn left onto Wisemans Ferry Road. After 2.5 Km Wisemans Ferry Road makes a 90° turn to the right. At this point turn left into Lackersteens Road, continue for 700 metres, and the airfield will be seen on the left hand side.
