SkyTrikes, the concept
In 1998, a documentary, made by a Canadian named Bill Lishman, showed a Microlight leading a gaggle of Geese on a migration flight from Canada to the southern states of America. He had raised the Geese from birth and was teaching them to fly south for the winter. What a fantastic adventure.
It looked amazing, Bill sitting in a seat, on a tricycle, with an engine on the back, hanging under a Hang Glider wing. Literally flying through the air with the geese close enough to touch.
Today, that Tricycle hang glider, powered aircraft, is one of the safest forms of recreational air transport in the world and the opportunity for everyone to experience 'literally flying through the air' themselves has been made possible with SkyTrikes.
SkyTrikes is a soft adventure experience set up across Australia and continually adding new locations, to provide domestic and international participants an exhilarating 'fly in the sky' under the guidelines of the Hang Gliding Federation of Australia.
